Coach Jesse Schaa
Jesse is a business owner, community leader and inspiring triathlete. In 2009, he lost over 100 pounds on his own, not really knowing much about nutrition or fitness. After joining TVTC in 2010, he completed his first triathlon, the Silicon Valley International Triathlon. Since then, he has completed every distance triathlon including Ironman Florida in 2015. He has even completed several half marathons. Jesse has made being fit a part of his everyday life. He lives it everyday, which in turn has inspired so many others. He also makes the workouts fun and social, drawing even more people into the multi sport lifestyle. He has been named the "Julie McCoy" of TVTC, and if other members know he will be at practice, they come just to be around his exuberant energy. Ask him about his famous "Sur-tri-vor" events he designs and runs.
Jesse is a certified USA Triathlon Level 1 and has been coaching triathletes for over 2 years. Jesse's strength as a coach is to provide great mental support, guidance and logistical help. He currently provides a lot of expertise on every aspect of cycling. If you need help on fixing any problem with your bike, Jesse is the coach to ask.
Jesse is a long time resident of Fremont where his family business, Schaa's Lawnmowers, is located. Not only is he busy running his own business, he is highly active in his community. He designs and builds multiple parade floats and large projects every year. He helps other individuals and businesses through positions including president of local business associations, and chair of large community events including the Fremont 4th of July parade.
