Coach Kim Babiarz
Kim is a dedicated athlete, with expert workout-life balance skills. Kim came to sport later than most, and took up triathlon looking for personal growth. She was quickly absorbed into the vibrant community and hooked on those finish line endorphins. She loves pushing herself, setting big goals and going after them with dedication. She joined TVTC in 2016 and since then has competed in one Ironman and four half Ironman races with the team. She was an Ironman All World Athlete for 2018 and 2019. In addition to loving triathlon, Kim has a serious running habit. She enjoys the everything from 5K’s to marathons habit and is a 2020 Boston Marathon qualifier.
With two young children and a career, Kim specializes in achieving the sweet spot of workout-life balance. She’s an efficiency aficionado with experience blending an ambitious training schedule with a full home life. She is passionate about the power of sport to build confidence, support self discovery, and empower individuals to find new strengths and new capabilities. She loves sharing this passion with teammates and supporting in finding their way toward their goals. She believes in investing in effective, smart training, but also keeping things fun and exciting, and making triathlon accessible to everyone.
Kim earned a Master of Science in International and Development Economics from the University of San Francisco and a PhD in Agricultural and Resource Economics from the University of California, Davis. She is currently a Research Scholar in the Center for Primary Care Outcomes Research at Stanford University.
